Malaysia's Chameleon strikes again, DAP the first victim? Ego bigger than Dr M's but competence only grade D

Written by Syed Akbar Ali

KUALA LUMPUR (politicsnowmy.blogspot.com)Prof Murray Hunter has run a quick survey on the popularity and the prospects of kameleon and his party of doom.  I have adapted, edited his piece. My comments in blue.

BLOCKBUSTER MUST READ : DAP is Doomed. Doomed. Doomed. Doomed.

Two years of kameleon
X Survey Results
Murray Hunter, Nov 26 2024

  • Kameleon now two years.
  • Many people believed Malaysia would change for the better.
  • The best way to know is to find out what people are thinking.

This is my (Murray Hunter's) own survey, so at least I can talk from something a little quantitative. This poll has about 15% the participants size, compared to any Ideas-Yusof Ishak Institute poll. The only thing with my poll is that I cannot control the sample. For a person without any funding to conduct any surveys, it is the best I can do.

I have asked each question directly without any context, so as not to try to influence any particular response.

1. How would you rate kameleon's competence ?

  • This question received 185 responses from 971 views.
  • I only allowed A-D responses, so as not to dramatize any findings.
  •  74.6% rated kameleon's competence as “D”.
  • Over 10% said (B) to fair job (C)
  • 15.1% believe kameleon doing “A” job

OSTB :  This is very bad news. In 2008, 2013 Raja Petra and I ran separate surveys like this to gauge the popularity of Abdullah Badawi and Najib. These were the similar type of survey responses that we got, from early on.

When 74.6% of respondents think your competence is a "D" (dunggu level) you better look for a new job.   Only 15% approve. That means FIVE TIMES as many people think kameleon is incompetent and not fit for the job.

DAP people please take note. This is the end of the horse ride. Dont get down from the back of the horse - the horse might give you a parting kick in the backside.  Sayonara.

2. Cost of Living

  • This cost of living is a major issue facing many Malaysians.
  • Do people see the economy ‘better than before’, ‘the same’, or ‘worse than before’.
  • This question received 156 responses from 745 views.
  • 89.1% respondents see the economy as worse than before.
  • 4.5% of the respondents saw the economy as the same
  • 6.4% see the economy as better than before.

OSTB :  This is very bad news. It is always the economy, stupid. NINE TIMES as many people think the economy is worse off. Get rid of that rice monopoly. Get rid of the APs, lower imported car prices to match international markets. Get rid of the tolls.

3. Corruption

  • Corruption is a major issue
  • Kameleon said would pay attention to it.
  • This question received 213 responses from 972 views
  • 66.2% respondents believe corruption worse than before.
  • 19.2% of respondents saw corruption  same as before
  • 14.6% believe corruption is less than before

OSTB :  This is bad. 85.4% of respondents say corruption is worse or same. Corruption is a way of life for politicians. Conjob van shuttle service ripping off tax payers money is one example.

4.  Ego  (BODOH SOMBONG)

  • Ego is associated with arrogance and display of personal power.
  • Ego can gauge respondents feelings towards particular candidate.
  • This question had 1,445 views with 318 responses.
  • 58.8% believed kameleon had the most ego.
  • 30.5% believed Mahathir Mohamed had the most ego
  • 10.4% saw Muhyiddin Yassin being the most egoistic
  • 0.3% of believed Ismail Sabri had the most ego.

OSTB :  This is bad. It looks like kameleon is the top scorer in all categories of dumb and dunggu.

5. Should kameleon's party offer alternative candidate as leader ?

  • Talk of internal discontent within his own party over his performance
  • Interesting responses about need for new candidate
  • Out of 146 responses, 79.1% believed party should find new candidate
  • ONLY 20.9% believed it’s not necessary for new candidate

OSTB :  This is bad. 79% say "OUT" versus only 21% who support him. That is a 4 : 1 ratio against kameleon. The party is in trouble. Mr Formuler should really make his move. It is now or never. Save the party.

6.  Credibility of the DAP

  • DAP is largest party in coalition
  • perception of credibility of the DAP.
  • 944 views and 194 responses.
  • 76.8% believe DAP cannot be trusted
  • 12.9% believe DAP lost some credibility.
  • 10.3%  think DAP has lost no credibility,

OSTB :  This is bad. Very bad for the DAP. 77% say they cannot trust the DAP. If the sample size were bigger then the negative responses will also be bigger.

7. Who would you vote for in the next general election

  • To the question “who would you vote for in the next general election?

  • 206 people responded.
  • Response for PH 16.5% and PN 52.4% is very striking.
  • 27.2% said they would vote for others.

OSTB :  This is bad. Perikatan Nasional received 3.2 times more approvals than Pakatan Harapan.

Conclusions

  • Kameleon does not have the public support for a second term.
  • Serious issues like untrustworthiness and intellectual incompetence.
  • Economy and corruption are two other weaknesses
  • Kameleon's own political party not giving solid support.
  • DAP has lost trust of its support base.
  • Perikatan Nasional serious contender in GE16.
OSTB : This is the end of the road.
