NO, SHE'S NOT ON THE RUN! - MALAYSIA-BORN TVB STAR JACQUELIN CH'NG FLIES TO HONG KONG TO 'ASSIST IN POLICE INVESTIGATIONS' OVER JPEX

KUALA LUMPUR (Politics Now!) - Malaysian-born actress Jacquelin Ch'ng based in Hong Kong has been hauled up by the city state's police to 'help in investigations' over crypto exchange platform JPEX.

Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) is probing the platform for operating without a licence.

Other Hong Kong celebrities including Julian Cheung were also summoned. Ch’ng returned to Hong Kong from Malaysia yesterday to assist in the investigations.

According to the Dim Sum Daily, Ch'ng left the Wan Chai police station at 3.40am today and denied knowing the suspects.

To date, 11 individuals have been arrested including social media influencers Joseph Lam Chok and Chan Yee.

A total of 2,197 victims had filed reports with losses amounting to approximately HK$1.37 billion (RM821.4 million).
